Innovation democracy is a fresh perspective about democratic reform that sees a wider range of forms of civic involvement than the old theoretical concepts of participatory democracy. It enables people to connect and form organizations that can effect policy without the need to physically fulfill in person. It is often triggered by simply advances in communication technology and advancements in the organization of community affairs.

It is just a perspective that sees democratic innovations because the product of collaboration between different types of actor – open public institutions, municipal society organisations, individual companies, citizens and the marketing. It is the synergy that they create that enables them to achieve influence on general population policy problems. It is this kind of that gives democratic innovation it is transformative potential.

Instead of merely changing institutions, the aim of those engaged in this approach was to radically replace the nature of democracy. It targets on creating democratic spaces that support ingenuity, debate and experimentation. It also recognises that, as the boundaries of politics are contested, development cannot be divorced from its political context.

Shape 1 displays the link between innovation plus the political system. It displays a significant relationship between democracy and having a patent of, controlling with respect to economic size. Democracies including South Korea, France and the USA are lying above the built in line. The same design is certainly not evident to get the autocracies – although Russia and China perform innovate, they may have largely innovation democracy focused on navy technologies. This kind of suggests that it is not necessarily simply the degree of democracy that determines progressive capacity, but also the shape.
